With Trust Me, I’m A Doctor entering its 7th series, the production team decided to give the graphic stings a refresh and commissioned Playdead to come up with a new, light-hearted and fun style that would help lift certain situations within the programmes and offer some humour.
With this in mind we development a concept incorporating stock footage that would appear to interact with 3D graphic elements, in ways related to health, fitness and wellbeing. Running with this idea, we conceptualised each scenario and, by working with the BBC we were able to provide them with 8 new, original stings and title, that would effectively illustrate what impact our day-to-day lifestyles have on our bodies.
The animations were created using Maxon’s Cinema 4D, which allowed us to design complex scenes and camera moves that were imperative to the flow and legibility of each. These were then rendered using Solidangle’s Arnold renderer, applying a high end, glossy finish to the 3D elements, and helping to emphasise the lush colour palettes and textures that had been carefully applied to each object.
